Union Station

September 1, 1894 St. Louis Union Station opened as the largest and most beautiful terminal in the United States.

Union Station is constructed of Indiana Limestone. 


In the 1940's Union Station handled about 100,000 passengers a day. 

Grand Hall has gold leaf, Romanesque arches, 65-foot barrel vaulted ceiling and stained glass windows.

Union Stations vaulted ceilings are 65 feet tall.
