The Hill

The Hill is named after it being the highest point in the city. It is also clams that 75% of the neighborhood is Italian descent. 

Rich and Terri LuRusso own Leonardo's wine bar named after their grandson.  

The Hill is one of the City’s least changed and most stable neighborhoods.

St.Ambrose was built in 1926. It was built to look like Sant'Ambrogio Church in Milan. 

St.Ambrose was built in in an Lombard Romanesque Revival style of brickand terra cotta.

Union Station

September 1, 1894 St. Louis Union Station opened as the largest and most beautiful terminal in the United States.

Union Station is constructed of Indiana Limestone. 

In the 1940's Union Station handled about 100,000 passengers a day. 

Grand Hall has gold leaf, Romanesque arches, 65-foot barrel vaulted ceiling and stained glass windows.

Union Stations vaulted ceilings are 65 feet tall.

Lafayette Square

Lafayette Park United Methodist Church is built of limestone in a Romanesque style.  The congregation has history dating back to 1834. 

Majority of houses were built in the 1900's in Lafayette Square some going back to the Civil War. 

Lafayette Square Victorian town houses of the area had many homes that were converted into rooming houses during the Depression.

Lafayette Square Park House was built in 1867. It was used as a police station but  now is the Lafayette Square Restoration Committee office. 

Lafayette Square is one of the oldest neighborhoods in St. Louis and is named after the Marquis de Lafayette.

Central West End

St. John’s United Methodist Church built in 1902. It is now the home of Link Auction Galleries. 

Brick Gothic architecture style is common in Northern Europe it became prevalent in the 12th century.

The Chase Park Plaza was built and named after Chase Ullman. It officially opened in 1922.

Second Presbyterian Church was built in 1896 in the Romanesque style.

This home is Romanesque style architecture. Romanesque architecture is known by its massive quality, thick walls, round arches, sturdy piers, groin vaults, large towers and decorative arcading. 

Laclede's Landing, Washington Ave & Downtown STL

Eads Bridge built in 1874 becoming the first bridge in the world built primarily with steel.

Martin Luther King Bridge formally known as Veterans Bridge built in 1951.

1300 Market St is four stories and 160,000 square feet constructed in 1911.

1200 Market Street is the St.Louis City Hall French-styled plan that was inspired by the Hotel de Ville or City Hall of Paris built in 1893.
